    Hitomi was abandoned as a child, left in a human babe's crib before he could even crawl. Similar in features to the human child his parents had spirited away, he was raised in place of the kidnapped infant, the human parents never suspecting a thing. As he grew into a toddler, two bumps took rise on his forehead. His dark hair gradually turned a gradient purple and one eye took on a sinister hue. Alarmed, the parents took Hitomi to the town's medicine man, who promptly recoiled in disgust. Claiming the child was a demon, he instructed the parents to dispose of it. Sadly, with much reluctance and pressure from the town citizens, they agreed to do away with the child they had come to care for and set off into the forest with a hatchet in hand. In the end, they were unable to take his life. Abandoning the child, the two killed a fox and took its heart as evidence instead.

    Alone and confused, Hitomi was later picked up by a rogue oni pack and taught how to terrorize humans. His teenage years was raised on raiding villages and devouring humans. Constant success in tormenting small villages caused the pack to become content. One day, after a raid just like any other, their leader decided to stay in the area for some time. This, unfortunately, would bring about the end of the pack. Rallying villagers bent on revenge ambushed the pack, killing all but Hitomi and two others.

    The three were young adults at best when that tragedy occurred. Knowing there was no longer a home where such bloodshed of their kin had taken place, they set off to a new town, recruiting oni abandoned or outcast until a misfit band was formed with Hitomi at the helm. Knowing transparency would be a huge liability, they began with small dealings in the shadow, be it preying on human or offering their services for a hefty price. As time passed, they became more tactful, able to intimidate and blackmail their way into official ranks without much risk to themselves. A camaraderie formed and, til this day, they're still slowly building a web of connections which would ultimately lend to their future survival. Surely.
